早川電機の小型5球スーパー。パステルカラーのアメリカ製プラスチックラジオ風だが、実はアルミダイキャストでできている。トランスレスのマツダ・ホームスーパー・シリーズの真空管を使っているが、電源トランスを持つトランス式のセットである。出力管がビーム管でないことからトランスレス用としては使いにくく、売れなかったホームスーパーシリーズの真空管を(多分買い叩いて)使い、信頼性の低い倍電圧整流管を避けて普通のトランス式としたもののようである。当時の電源事情が不安定だったこともトランスレスを避けた理由だったのだろう。松下と共に早川も2台目需要としての小型ラジオの将来にかけて、このようなセットを発売していたが、当時は大型の普及型スーパーよりも高価であった。
Hayakawa’s small 5 tubes superheterodyne set with plastic like cast aluminum
cabinet. Tubes were new “Home Super” series for transformer-less set with
12V 175mA heater. However, this set equipped ordinary transformer and standard
rectifier tube 12F. The power tube of this series was not beam type. It
could not realize enough power by Japanese line voltage (100V A.C.). And
the stability of electricity was poor. The price was higher than standard
superheterodyne set with wooden cabinet.
