Mass production model used new tubes 6WC5 (converter) and 6ZDH3A (detector and triode).
To reduce cost, The shield case of IFT was omitted, and 2 nd IFT was single
tuning.
Auto-transformer was used for power transformer.
The price was reduced 30% from old super heterodyne set.
The circuit design of this model was unreasonable to keep quality.
The price of this set was higher than small manufacturer’s super heterodyne set.
And the price was twice of typical TRF set. It was expensive to ordinary people.
Simplified design was not enough to realize a status for the price.
This model was not succeeded.
After half a year, at the end of 1948, this model was changed into Model 5S-15.
Model 5S-15 used ordinary circuit design.
